Melbourne Stars
The Melbourne Stars batting lacks the ability to deliver the necessary impact on the field against the opposition in spite of enjoying the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Ben Dunk, Luke Wright in the batting lineup. Veterans John Hastings and Michael Beer have brought all their experience to the fore but a comprehensive performance by the team as a whole is necessary for the outfit to succeed.
Predicted XI: Ben Dunk, Luke Wright, Peter Handscomb, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Rob Quiney, James Faulkner, John Hastings, Adam Zampa, Scott Boland, Michael Beer.
Brisbane Heat
The Brisbane Heat have been let down to a great extent by the poor form exhibited by captain Brendon McCullum who has been a pale shadow in comparison to what he is capable of. Chris Lynn seems to be in good nick after making a comeback from injury but the rest of the batsman clearly need to pull up their socks at this stage of the tournament. Bowlers like Yasir Shah and Mitchell Swepson have been impressive in the tournament so far and will be expected to continue in the same vein.
Predicted XI: Jimmy Peirson, Brendon McCullum, Chris Lynn, Joe Burns, Alex Ross, Ben Cutting, Cameron Gannon, Josh Lalor, Mark Sketee, Yasir Shah, Mitchell Swepson.
We believe that the Melbourne Stars will emerge victorious against the Brisbane Heat.
