BBL 7, Match 24: Hobart Hurricanes vs Brisbane Heat – Match Predictions
While Brisbane Heat have won their last 2 games, Hobart Hurricanes completed a hat-trick of wins the other night.
The 24th match of the on-going 7th edition of the Big Bash League is going to be played between Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat and it promises to be a cracker of a game with both teams being on a bit of a winning spree. While Brisbane Heat have won their last 2 games, Hobart Hurricanes completed a hat-trick of wins the other night when they defeated the Sydney Sixers in their own backyard.
After they lost first couple of their games in the tournament, it seemed the Hurricanes might remain behind in the qualification race for the semi-finals, but the way they have turned things around, they now seem to be a strong contender for the final 4. However they will have their task cut out when they face Heat because Heat are an explosive side and can blow away the opposition teams on their nights. Also the game is scheduled to take place at the Gabba, so the Heat will have the home advantage as well.

Head to Head Record

Hobart Hurricanes
Although the Hurricanes have won 3 matches in a row, all three of them have been close matches and could easily have gone in the favour of the opposition. So it’s not that they are absolutely flying, but what they have done well is that they have grabbed the big moments of the game quite well and that has led them to victories. Talking about the individuals, D’Arcy Short has led the batting from the front by making big contributions consistently and he has got decent bit of support from the middle order as well.
Predicted XI: Alex Doolan, D’Arcy Short, Ben McDermott, George Bailey, Dan Christian, Matthew Wade, Jofra Archer, Cameron Boyce, Clive Rose, Tymal Mills, Aaron Summers.
Brisbane Heat
The Brisbane Heat will be without their main strike force Chris Lynn who has injured himself once again and is most likely to miss the rest of the tournament now. But even without Lynn, the Heat are a very strong side and have got enough firepower in the batting. The likes of Brendon McCullum, Joe Burns and Ben Cutting are seasoned campaigners and they will have to raise their game in the absence of Lynn.
Lynn had been opening the batting with McCullum in the past few games, but now with him not being available, they will go back to the wicketkeeper batsman Jimmy Peirson who is also a top order batsman and is a good stroke player.
Predicted XI: Jimmy Peirson (WK), Brendan McCullum (C), Sam Heazlett, Joe Burns, Alex Ross, Ben Cutting, Brendan Doggett, Mitchell Swepson, Mark Steketee, Yasir Shah, Cameron Gannon
We believe the Hobart Hurricanes will beat the Brisbane Heat in this game.
