Bangladesh Cricket Board is currently in search for the third member of their selection panel. And they have approached Abdur Razzak, the former player for the same. However, he has asked for some time as it is a difficult decision for him to make. But, his decision is expected to come out soon in the near future.

Abdur Razzak made his international debut back in 2006 and went onto play a total of 13 Tests, 153 ODIs and 34 T20Is. He is arguably one of the best spinners that Tigers have produced in its cricketing history, who grabbed a total of 279 international wickets for his team. There is no doubt that he was great turner of the ball during his stint with Bangladesh cricket team.

Akram Khan asks selection panel to have a check on the decision of Abdur Razzak

Akram Khan, BCB cricket operations chairman said that he has asked the other member of the selection panel to know what are the plans of Abdur Razzak over the proposal. It will be an uphill task for him as he is still playing cricket. And recently, he featured in Dhaka Premier League. There are still questions if he wants to play or curtail his career.

“I have asked Habibul Bashar [selector] to know his [Razzak] mind regarding our proposal [of being part of the selection panel]. Razzak is taking time as he is playing in the DPL. We are not sure whether he wants to prolong his career or not,” Akram Khan, BCB cricket operations chairman said as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Razzak had also confirmed that he was contacted by BCB for the role of the selector. But, he wants some time to think over the same.

“Yes they have contacted me but I wanted some time to decide. I have told them that I will let them know after the Dhaka Premier League matches. Now as the league is postponed, I can think about this now. I have to leave cricket for this new job and it is not an easy decision for me because I am living in cricket for a long time. I have to take time to decide so that later I don’t have any regret whatsoever,” Abdur Razzak said in an interaction with cricfrenzy.com
