One of the major reasons for Bangladesh reaching new heights in International cricket, BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon is all set to give up his post citing excessive pressure. Under the leadership of Papon, Bangladesh removed their age-old tag of minnows to become one of the potent forces in World Cricket.

Since being appointed as the lynchpin of Bangladesh cricket, the improvement of the cricket-frenzied nation is there for everyone to see. Bangladesh recently defeated New Zealand in the Champions Trophy to reach the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy.

They also defeated the English side in the World Cup of 2015 to book the quarter-final berth of the premier ODI event. The likes of Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, and Mahmudullah have gained the superstar status in World Cricket under the leadership of the 52-year old

Can’t deal with the Toils of Cricket anymore, says Hasan

“To be frank, it’s really hard to keep myself away from cricket. I have come back to Bangladesh today (Sunday). I was telling my wife, It’s better to stay in the cricket board as a director if I really have to stay. I think it’s too much time and almost full time,” claimed Nazmul Hasan Papon according to bdcrictime.com.

“I am directly involved with everyone. Everyone is able to contact with me directly. So it’s necessary to be give full time. Apart from that, I have to travel a lot. ICC, Cricket, ACC, job, politics etc, I feel too much pressure managing all these things at a time.” further augmented the President of BCB.

He concluded by stating that Bangladesh Cricket is in safe hands in the future. “I can assure, whoever comes it wouldn’t be bad for cricket. I don’t think there would be any problem in Bangladesh cricket for next 8 years. It’s not possible to do all the things at a time. I always tried to take suggestion from all of you (journalists). And it helped a lot,” concluded Nazmul Hasan.
