BCCI announce India U-19 A and B squad for Tri-Series including Bangladesh

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Friday (November 19), announced India U19 A and India U19 B squads that will take part in a triangular series also featuring the Bangladesh U19 team. The tournament will be held in Kolkata from 28th November to 7th December. With the next edition of the Under-19 T20 World Cup taking place next year, it’s a great opportunity for players of both sides to stake a claim in the squad for the global event.

Meanwhile, the All-India Junior Selection Committee has picked the two Indian teams that will take part in a triangular series. Speaking of the schedule, a doube round-robin format will be followed which would see the three sides playing each other thrice in the league stages. The top two teams will then advance to the final clash which will take place on December 7.

Preparations for next U-19 World Cup are underway

It has to be noted that India and Bangladesh locked horns in the finals of the last edition of the Under-19 World Cup, which took place in South Africa last year. While the Boys in Blue entered that summit clash as favourites, the Bangla Tigers stunned them and walked away with a thrilling win.

While different sets of Indian and Bangladesh teams will be featuring in the upcoming series, a similar tussle can be witnessed. Speaking of the squads, SK Rasheed will lead the India U-19 A team, Aneeshwar Gautam has been named the captain of the B team.
