BCCI announce India Women's squad for Australia series
While Jhulan Goswami failed to recover from injury, Jemimah Rodrigues retained her place in the side.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced India Women’s squad for the upcoming series against Australia. They are scheduled to play the three-match ODI series against the team from down under at home. Recently, the India eves thumped South Africa women in their own den and won both the ODI and T20I series. However, Jhulan Goswami has missed out of the key series as she has failed to recover from the injury.
India Women were in great form during their tour to the Rainbow nation as they trumped the hosts by 2-1 in the limited overs format. Though the veteran Mithali Raj failed to score big in the series, it was the young guns who put their hands up during the course of the series. Smriti Mandhana continued to shine at the highest level in her first tour to the country and was named Man of the Series.
Who replaced Jhulan?
Sukanya Parida has been recalled to the ODI squad to replace the veteran Jhulan Goswami. The 24-year-old last featured for India in November 2016 against Windies Women which is her International appearance till date. The rest of the squad is the same with Raj leading the pack. Harmanpreet Kaur continues to be her deputy as the team would love to continue their winning run against Australia as well. Veda Krishnamurthy and Deepti Sharma will bat in the middle-order in order to give the final push to the team’s total.
The bowling attack will be lead by Shikha Pandey with young Pooja Vastrakar also taking the new ball who impressed in South Africa. Poonam Yadav, Ekta Bisht and Rajeshwari Gayakwad are the specialist spinners in the squad. The ODI series will commence on March 12 and all the matches will be played in Vadodara.
