BCCI announces fixtures for Windies' tour of India

The Windies are scheduled to tour India in October and November for a two-match Test, five-match ODI, and a three-match T20I series. In the meantime, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the fixtures for the upcoming series. The Test series starts on October 4 and will take place until October 16 with Rajkot and Hyderabad being the hosts for the matches.

Thereafter, the teams will get a four-day break following which the rivals will lock horns in five One Day Internationals from October 21 to November 01. Guwahati, Indore, Pune, Mumbai, and Thiruvananthapuram are the hosts for the 50-overs contests. Moreover, the two teams will get a break of a couple of days between each encounter.

The first of the three T20Is will be played at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, the very venue where the Windies became the World Champions for the second time by defeating England in a nail-biting encounter. Lucknow and Chennai respectively will witness the last two encounters. The Windies’ cricketers are currently busy playing in the Caribbean Premier League.

On the contrary, India are toiling hard in England where they lost the five-match Test series 1-3. The Men in Blue will now take part in the Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), starting September 15. The Windies don’t have any international fixtures prior to the India series. Their previous assignment was against Bangladesh where they won the Test series but lost the ODI and T20I series.
