IPL 2022 stars Umran Malik, Yash Dayal, and Rajat Patidar are the big names in India A squad that is set to face New Zealand A in September 2022. The Kiwi players will be touring India for three four-day unofficial Tests, which will be followed by as many List A fixtures. It will be a power-packed month as the senior team will be busy with the Asia Cup 2022, and the ‘A’ team will be in action too.
The majority of the 16-player roster features budding cricketers like Tilak Varma of Hyderabad and Umran Malik of Jammu & Kashmir. While the former received praises in bulk from Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardene when he represented the five-time champions in 2022, the latter was probably the name on every player and fan’s mind as he ignited the tournament with his pace.
“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked India A squad for the four-day matches against New Zealand A starting next month. New Zealand A will tour India for three four-day matches and as many one-day games. The red-ball matches will be held in Bengaluru and Hubli. Squads for the white-ball games to be played in Chennai will be announced later,” the BCCI media release stated.
