The India One Day International squad for England has recently been announced. They will play three matches in the series in London, Leeds and Birmingham respectively. The team managed to beat England the last time they toured the nation and they would be looking to replicate their performance this time around. The team will be captained by Virat Kohli, who is leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.

Siddarth Kaul and Ambati Rayudu have been rewarded for their stupendous performances in the tournament. Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal has been disappointing recently, but has been entrusted with in the tour. KL Rahul, who has been in prime form for the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) have also found a place in the limited overs squad.

A formidable squad in place

Umesh Yadav has been outstanding for RCB and has been one of their primary wicket-takers. Quite expectantly, he has been drafted in the limited overs team where he has struggled to stake his claim for quite some time. Bhuvneshwar Kumar suffered a back injury earlier in the IPL, but has stormed back and yesterday he defended 12 runs off the last over against RCB.

Washington Sundar hasn’t been at his best in the IPL, but he bowled exceedingly well for India in the Nidahas triangular series in Sri Lanka. The youngster had earlier shown a tremendous temperament to survive the dynamics of the game and he has duly been rewarded. Hardik Pandya wasn’t in the greatest of forms in South Africa, but bearing in mind his exploits in the IPL, he has been given another opportunity.

Here is the squad

Virat Kohli (Capt), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni(wk), Dinesh Karthik, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Siddarth Kaul, Umesh Yadav
