BCCI clears out January 2018 payments, Rahul Dravid the highest earner

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently cleared out the pending dues of the cricketers. They released the payments of certain players and coaches, who had their share of payments due as on January 2018. Among the many beneficiaries who received the payments, former cricketer Rahul Dravid fetched the highest amount.

Rahul Dravid recently coached the India U19 team to a historic win in the ICC U19 World Cup 2018. Also, Dravid has been coaching the India A side. Under his watchful eyes, the young colts have flourished big time in the recent months. Dravid received a whopping INR 2.43 crore from the BCCI as professional fees for the period 01.07.17 to 31.12.17.

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya was given INR 12770884 (INR 1.2 crore approx.) as his match fees, tour fees, and his retainership fee for the period of July 2017 to September 2017. Pandya was with the national side during the mentioned time frame for the tour of West Indies and Sri Lanka. Similarly, chinaman Kuldeep Yadav fetched INR 10826884 (INR 1 crore approx.) for his services during the same overseas tours.

Veteran cricketer Ajinkya Rahane and opening batsman Abhinav Mukund got INR 14759890 (INR 1.4 crore approx.) and INR 3369600 (INR 33 lakh approx.) respectively. While Rahane received the amounts for the West Indies and Sri Lanka tour, Mukund got the amounts for the tour of Sri Lanka. For the same Sri Lanka tour, Wriddhiman Saha got INR 5781991 (INR 57 Lakh).

Non-playing staff fetch big amounts

Among the non-playing members, former Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra was given INR 60 Lakh as his one-time benefit offer from the BCCI. The board provides this option to former cricketers. Nehra retired from international cricket towards the end of the year 2017. Furthermore, commentator Murali Karthik received – INR 3061800 (INR 30 Lakh) as his Commentary fees for Ind vs SL series 2017-18.

Sanjay Manjrekar also received INR 3628800 (INR 36 lakh) as the Crew Fee of TV Feed production of the home series against Sri Lanka in November last year. Former cricketer Mithun Manhas was given away INR 7560000 (INR 75 lakh) by the BCCI as the Professional Charges for being the Head Coach of the JKCA for FY 2015-16 & FY 2016-17.
