In somewhat of a new amendment to the entire ordeal of Wives and Girlfriends, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stated that the WAGs of the Indian cricket team can indeed join their significant others only after the first two weeks on tour. However, in another surprise, the Board also went on to add that there will be only 14 days after which they will have to leave.
While this comes as a rather interesting update as well as a welcome one, the Board has not gone on to specify which of the 14 days they get to spend with their hubbies. In fact, since it is unclear which of the days the slots would be available, the board has said that they can join them for any 14-days for a 45-day tour.
The tour of England, for the Indians at least is one such tour wherein they will be away from their families for a long time. The Indian team will now stay behind for the rest of August for a five-match Test series. Although the squad has been plagued by injuries, it is clear that they are indeed the favourites. The first Test begins on the first of August in Edgbaston.
‘BCCI did not want a fixed slot for the WAGs’
A statement from the Board of Control read the same. “In the event of the 45-day tour, the BCCI did not want a fixed slot for the WAGs. It may or may not suit all of them. So, we’ve decided that the ladies can join their men for any 14 days during the tour after the first two weeks,” Mumbai Mirror reported.
