India is all set to play five-match Test series against England from August 04 and it will mark the commencement of the 2021-23 cycle of the World Test Championship. The opening Test is all set to take place at Trent Bridge, Nottingham and in the latest turn of events, BCCI shared the first look of the pitch. The pitch displayed heavy greens all over which made it difficult to differentiate from the rest of the ground.
However, it is expected that some of it will be shaved before the opening Test begins. It has to be noted that Trent Bridge has been India’s most successful venue over the years and a scene like this might end their winning tone here. India have won three Test games on the same venue and during their last tour to England, the only victory of the tour came here.
Ever since England has visited India in February 2021, pitch and playing conditions have been the talk of the town. The pitch was criticized way too much in India after it failed to support any bounce and turn. On the other hand, it well supported the spin conditions where Ravi Ashwin and Axar Patel wreaked completed havoc on the visiting side.

India will aim to begin the series on a winning note
India won the series 4-1 and it was said that when India would visit English soil, they will look forward to taking revenge. However, Joe Root added that they have no intention of doing anything like this and will aim to prepare good wickets. Talking about their last game on Trent Bridge, skipper Virat Kohli missed his Hundred by three runs and was supported by Ajinkya Rahane’s well-made 81.
With India kicking off their new WTC cycle, they will be keen on starting it on a winning note but English conditions won’t be any easy for them. Their pacers especially Jofra Archer and James Anderson might turn out to be a big threat where the past of Anderson and Kohli is well known to all.
