BCCI rewards DDCA with Best Overall Performance Award

The award is given by the Indian cricket board to one of its associated every for showing great growth in the sport.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently awarded the Delhi and District Cricket Association the Best Overall Performance Award. The award is given by the Indian cricket board to one of its associated every for showing great growth in the sport. This growth refers to the performances of all the teams – be it the Men’s team, the Women’s team, or the age group teams.

The administrator of the DDCA, Justice (Retd.) Vikramjit Sen, thanked the BCCI for the award in a recent press release. He also praised the efforts of young cricketers from the region, Tejas Baroka and Jonty Sidhu, for their exceptional run of form in the recent times.

“DDCA is pleased to hear that BCCI has conferred this State Association with the Best Overall Performance Award’ for the consistency of both the Senior and Junior teams in both the Men and Women’s formats,” Justice (Retd.) Vikramjit Sen said in a release.

“Talented DDCA players Mr. Tejas Baroka and Mr. Jonty Sidhu have also been recognized as the highest wicket taker (Under 23) and highest scorer (under 19) respectively which is laudable. Congratulations to the talented players of DDCA who have made this Award possible,” he added.

Appreciate the efforts of the committee

He further spoke about his experience at the state association. He remarked that the smooth functioning of the board has been possible due to the able guidance of the Supreme Court. Commenting further on the same note, he ensured that he acknowledged and thanked the efforts of all the people who made this possible.

He thanked the coaches, the managers, the support staff, the selectors, and the players for their contribution in making the season a very successful one for cricket in Delhi.

“My experience at the helm of DDCA for the last 16 months has reaffirmed the need of judicial intervention in streamlining the affairs of sports bodies. The reforms set in motion by the Hon’ble Supreme Court and Hon’ble High Court of Delhi have brought in results, which were the need of the hour,” Justice Sen noted.

“I appreciate the efforts of the Cricket Affairs Committee that comprised of Madan Lal, Sunil Valson, Amita Sharma, Syed Saba Karim and G.S Vivek, the Selectors, Coaches, Managers and other support staff appointed in support of the domestic teams. The efforts of employees of DDCA cannot be lost sight of,” he conceded further.
