BCCI to hire Cheif Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer
The BCCI working committee has decided work out the process for hiring a chief executive officer (CEO) and chief financial officer (CFO) for the board. The decision was taken at the working committee in Mumbai on Friday.
BCCI also aims to rework the its future tours programme (FTP) for the period 2016 to 2023 in order to “ensure equitable distribution of the matches”.
In 2014, the main FTP-setting powers was passed from the ICC to the individual boards. The BCCI had signed bilateral agreements that have confirmed India would play the most Tests (20) against England, Australia (16) and South Africa (12) from 2015 to 2023. As a result, the teams seen as less attractive opposition were losing out.
Another big news which came out in the following special general meeting was that BCCI has given full member status to Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh. This makes them the 28th team in the Ranji Trophy and qualifies them to play the elite competition next season.
The young state will become the 31st association to have got the status to compete in the Ranji trophy and other senior level BCCI tournament. They will play in the central zone.
The Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh (CSCS) is the governing body of the Cricket activities in the Chhattisgarh state of India and the Chhattisgarh cricket team. It is affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India as Associate Member.
The state which was carved out from Madhya Pradesh in 2000 has done well in all junior and senior tournament in which they were entitled to play for five years.
According to the BCCI regulations, an associate member can be promoted as a full member if the said member is an Associate Member for a continuous period of five cricketing seasons, and such a member satisfies the board that the game in its jurisdiction has reached a standard justifying its participation in the national tournament of Ranji Trophy.
