Ben Stokes and Imad Wasim have a go at each other
The left-hander was seen in a rift during the first semi-final between England and Pakistan
No matter what the situation of the game is, expect Ben Stokes to be involved in some lip service, and if his team is in a winning position or not, does not matter. Even though hopes for England were intact till the time Stokes was at the crease, the damage had already been done by Pakistan. After the end of the 38th over, English all-rounder Ben Stokes was involved in a spat with Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim.
Stokes had already faced 30-odd balls and barely even managed 15 runs by that time and he was not in the best of positions to take some banter lightly. He ended up scoring 34 runs off 64 deliveries, and the absence of even a single boundary in his innings shows that it was an off-day for Stokes as much as it was for England.
Some verbals were out there between Stokes and the Pakistan fielders throughout but it was when Imad Wasim got into the picture in an attempt to mimic throwing the ball towards the non-striker’s end where Stokes was standing, that it really got ugly.Moeen Ali attempted to play a big shot off the final ball of the over and completely mistimed it as the left-handed batsman tried to go over the mid-wicket but could not time his shot and the ball went as far as Imad Wasim who was standing in the ring.

Stokes, who was not really having a good time in the middle added with his quality of being a believer of the “giving it back” philosophy, approached Imad to throw a few verbal volleys at him. However, even the Pakistan all-rounder was in no mood to let it go, and encouraged the altercation. The umpires were then seen talking to Sarfraz and calming things down. Sarfraz pushed Imad away as the two players returned to their position.
