Ben Stokes should look up to David Warner as an example admits Ryan Harris
Harris - He’s a huge loss for England.
The controversy regarding Ben Stokes participation in the upcoming Ashes is certainly under the serious scanner. The all-rounder was arrested by the police after his involvement in a fighting brawl in England at the night after the game. However, he was released without any major charges against him, but the ECB has suspended him. The ECB also announced Stokes will only fly to Australia for the Ashes after proper investigation is completed.
Former Aussie fast bowler Ryan Harris thinks that Stokes should follow David Warner’s example in the current situation. Earlier, current Australia vice-captain David Warner also was involved in a similar situation and he came out with a lot of maturity. Warner has shown massive improvement and changes in his attitude and behaviour after that incident.
He should look up to Warner
Ryan Harris explained that Stokes needs to change his behaviour and David Warner is a perfect example of it. “I don’t know Ben Stokes that well, I’ve only caught up with him a couple of times very briefly, but I guess David Warner is a great example to follow. He liked getting out and having a beer, but he’s changed his ways considerably. He’s got himself a good girl and a couple of beautiful kids, that is just life,” he said about the improvement in the Aussie opener’s attitude as quoted by Hindustan Times.
You should learn from your mistakes
Harris also revealed that Stokes has made a big blunder ahead of the big Ashes series and his team will have suffer hard in his absence down under. “You make mistakes, Ben Stokes has obviously made a big mistake and something has tipped him over the edge. You make mistakes but you work hard to earn the respect back,” he added.
“He’s a huge loss for England. Over the last couple of years, he’s announced himself as a genuine all-rounder and plays such a big role in the middle order. It’s very unfortunate what has happened, there is going to be a big hole there and someone else will have to try and step up to score his runs and take wickets. Without him the middle to lower order will be vulnerable,” concluded the former Aussie paceman.
Ashes to get started from Nov 23rd in Brisbane.
