Skipper Kohli notched up a brilliant century, and was dismissed on 122 that came off only 105 deliveries. But the star of the show was the local lad, Kedar Jadhav. Jadhav hammered 120 off just 76 deliveries with 12 fours and 4 sixes to ensure that the Indian team was over the line. Hardik Pandya finished off the proceedings with an unbeaten 40 off 37 deliveries.

After having lost the first T20I of the three match series against England, the Indian team were desperate to stay alive in the series when the action moved to Nagpur. However, it was a poor batting display from the hosts as they could only muster 144 runs on the board. This included a fine 71 from KL Rahul and a handy contribution of 30 from Manish Pandey.
It was owing to these two batsmen that the hosts managed to put a decent total on the board. In the run chase, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/ashish-nehra-set-mentor-rcb-ipl-2018/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ashish Nehra</a> accounted for the dismissal of both the openers. However, Joe Root and Ben Stokes (both scoring 38 each) rallied along to steer England closer to a series win. England needed 41 off the last five overs with 7 wickets in hand, 32 off the last 4 with still 7 wickets in hand, and eventually just 8 off the final over with six wickets in hand.
Despite all odds, team India managed to snatch a victory from the jaws of defeat. Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Root and Jos Buttler in the final over and held his nerves to concede just 2 runs to help the hosts register a narrow 5 run win. India leveled the series 1-1 and eventually won the final T20I at Bengaluru to seal the series 2-1.
<h4>3. Pallekele ODI v Sri Lanka (24 August 2017)</h4>

From being well in control of the game with 109/0, team India slipped to 131/7. It was a major debacle of absolute sorts with a certain <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/sl-v-ind-second-odi-ct-player-match-akila-dananjaya/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Akila Dananjaya putting some serious brakes</a> on the Indian run chase. This epic comeback of the Indian team dates back to August when the Indian team toured Sri Lanka. During the second ODI at Pallekele, India won the toss and opted to field first.
The Indian bowlers bowled tight lines to keep the run flow in check. Sri Lanka could only muster 236/8 in their stipulated 50 overs. It was expected to be an easy run chase for the Indian team. The fact that the Indian openers, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, added 109 runs for the first wicket only strengthened this claim. It was just then that Akila had some other plans.
The wily spinner dismissed Rohit Sharma for 54. Soon, he got through the defenses of KL Rahul, Kedar Jadhav, and Virat Kohli. Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel also perished soon as Akila finished with 6/54. Certainly, Virat Kohli&#8217;s men were in dire straits with over a 100 runs left to be chased and just 3 wickets in hand.
It was MS Dhoni and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who then stitched an unbeaten 100 run stand to help India win by 5 runs (DL method). Dhoni (45*) played the anchor role as Bhuvi hit a patient 53*. The visitors subsequently went on to drub the hosts by 5-0 in the series.

Much to the joy of the fans, their &#8216;thala&#8217; provided them yet another reason to rejoice on the occasion. Chennai hosted the first ODI of Australia&#8217;s tour of India 2017. Australia got off to a dream start on the tour with Nathan Coulter-Nile running through the Indian top order.
At 11/3, which soon got converted to 64/4, and then 87/5, team India stared right at embarrassment. However, it was MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya, who had some other plans. The duo added 115 runs for the sixth wicket to bail India out of trouble. It was carnage of the highest degree with both batsmen showing some clean and brutal hitting.
Whilst Pandya scored 83 off just 66 deliveries, MS Dhoni amassed 79 off 88 balls. The hosts ended with 281/7 in their 50 overs. The Australian team could not do much after they were set a revised target of 163 runs in 21 overs after a long rain interruption. India won the match by 26 runs (DL method).
<h4>5. Kanpur ODI v New Zealand (29 October 2017)</h4>

After two good games in the series between India and New Zealand, the action moved to Nagpur for the third and the final ODI of the series. It was the series decider and the match pretty well lived up to the hype. In a high scoring match, the spirit of the Indian team prevailed by 6 runs. Team India put on a mammoth 337/6 on the board riding on stellar tons from Virat Kohli (113) and Rohit Sharma (137).
They thought they had done it all right to seal the series. But the Kiwi team had some other plans. The spirited New Zealand side showed great character as they almost chased down the target. Colin Munro punished the Indian bowlers with 75 to his name. Kane Williamson (64), and Tom Latham (65) also hit crucial runs to ensure that the visitors were inching closer to the target.
India&#8217;s premier bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar was taken away for 92 runs in his quota of 10 overs. The kiwis seemed to be cruising in the match. In the end, it all boiled down to the final over, with <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/india-v-new-zealand-2017-3rd-odi-statistical-highlights/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jasprit Bumrah having the ball in hand and 15 runs to get</a>.
With Colin de Grandhomme at the crease and Mitchell Santner standing at the other end with a six to his name already, New Zealand had their noses ahead. But as had been the story of the year, Bumrah bowled an exceptional final over. He gave away only 8 runs as India eked out a 6-run win in the match to seal the series 2-1.
