One of the greatest Sri Lankan pacer, Chaminda Vaas was the center of pace bowling in the national team for more than a decade. Not so quick yet extremely effective type of bowler Vaas could not only swing the ball in the air but made it move off the wicket as well. With his effort against Bangladesh has successfully created some space for him to capture the no. 8 position of this list. On 14th February 2003, he attained his best bowling figures in world cups against Bangladesh as Vaas took 6 wickets for 25 runs in the 9.1 overs that he bowled in the game.
