The Indian-origin all-rounder Samit Patel currently plays first-class cricket for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club. Patel marked his debut for the English team in August 2008 but had to face omission owing to dissatisfactory fitness levels.

He later went on to mark his comeback for the country in 2011 and entered the purest format of the game in 2012. So far, he has been part of six Tests, 36 ODIs, and 231 first-class matches.

Patel has been part of various T20 leagues (PSL, LPL, BBL) across the globe and played last for England in 2015. He could have enjoyed a longer stint with the English team but his dismal fitness standards marred his international tenure.
