The West Indies cricket should be indebted to Jason Holder as the Barbadian stood up for his team in the most trying times. With his belief and confidence, he has ignited a new spark in the Carribean cricket. More importantly, he has brought a sense of unity in the current team which has been a concern for most of the West Indies teams in the past.

As far as his primary skill set is concerned Holder has also developed himself into a world-class Test bowler. In 2018 he broke the 100-year old record of the lowest Test bowling average in a year, 12.30. Also in recent times, Jason has grown as a batsman as he has struck 3 Test centuries. All these have led him to the No.1 position in the all-rounder rankings.

However, Holder has hardly paid attention to his personal success as he has been constantly trying to shape a team that can bring back the heydays of Windies cricket. Moreover, he is also changing the culture of the dressing room where players value national contracts more than T20 contracts. Looking at his contributions one can clearly say that Holder has been a true servant of the island nation. That’s why he is a highly respected individual in the cricketing community.
