In 2012, when India and Pakistan clashed in a rare bilateral series it created some memorable moments. Especially nobody can forget the big booming in-swingers of the gleamy-eyed youngster from Meerut. Yes, it is none other than Bhuvneshawar Kumar who announced his arrival at the international arena in style.

Since then Kumar has been one of the most consistent performers of the Indian team. Whether it is Test cricket or limited-overs cricket he has been producing match-winning spells for his country. For a brief period, he also led the bowling attack of the country across formats. Besides he has played a big role in the country’s pace revolution which helped the Indian team form their best pace attack in years.

Bhuvneshwar is one of few bowlers who quickly adapts to the different conditions. His variations coupled with his smart cricketing brain makes him a complete package irrespective of the format. Unfortunately, Kumar has often been dropped from the playing XI owing to his lack of pace. Still, he has always played the game in the right spirits and has done his part without expecting any big rewards in return. Talking about the on-field discipline he celebrates most of his wickets with a quiet fist pump and such characters are invariably loved by the audience.
