Back in the 2017 IPL season, Rahul Tripathi was one of the cornerstones for Rising Pune Supergiant’s success. The Maharashtra cricketer had scored 391 runs which came at a strike-rate of 146.44. In 2018 and 2019, he was a part of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) set-up.

He played 20 games for the Royals and largely batted in the middle order. He was inconsistent and good in parts. But he is a good fielder and can adapt to any batting position. Across the last two seasons, Tripathi has scored 367 runs for RR.

This year, he was back in the auction pool and he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for a sum of INR 60 lakhs. He can bat in the middle and is worth his price which is just three times his base price of INR 20 lakhs.
