'Better do something for your failed nation' - Suresh Raina slams Shahid Afridi for his comments on India PM and Kashmir
The likes of Gambhir, Yuvi, Harbhajan and Dhawan have also lashed out at Afridi.
Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has come under the scanner for his recent comments against India and Kashmir. In a Twitter video which has gone viral, he termed India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a coward and also stated that Pakistan is always with Kashmiris. He also spoke against the Indian Army during his speech which hasn’t gone down well with the Indian cricketers.
On Sunday, the likes of Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir and Shikhar Dhawan lashed out at Afridi for his comments. Suresh Raina is the latest to join the bandwagon and even he has some stern words for the Pakistan cricketer. The left-hander took to his Twitter handle and clarified that Kashmir belongs to India while also suggesting Afridi to do something for his nation rather than saying such things.
“Gosh! What all a person must do to remain relevant! Even more so for a nation that is living on alms. So, better do something for your failed nation and leave Kashmir alone. I am a proud Kashmiri and it is and will always remain an inalienable part of India. Jai Hind!” his tweet read.
This is not the first time that Shahid Afridi has travelled to Kashmir and given anti-India remarks. Not long ago, Harbhajan and Yuvraj had to face the wrath of the Indian fans for appealing to support Afridi for his foundation. The duo asserted that they did the same for the sake of humanity but have been hurt severely with his latest comments.
Harbhajan Singh will not be having any relation with Shahid Afridi
Harbhajan Singh has rather decided to not have any relation with the 40-year-old. He also suggested Shahid Afridi to not cross the limits and reminded him that he has no right to speak against India. “This is very upsetting what Shahid Afridi has come up with, talking ill about our country and our Prime Minister. This is just not acceptable. To be honest, he (Afridi) asked us to make an appeal for his charity.
“In good faith, we did it for humanity and for the people suffering due to the Coronavirus. This man (Afridi) is talking ill about our country. All I have to say is we have nothing to do with Shahid Afridi. He has no right to speak ill against our country and he should stay in his country and limits,” he said.
