Ishank Jaggi’s 51-run knock that he followed up with a smashing 51-ball 90 in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy hasn’t gone unnoticed. The 28-year-old would have just concentrated on the in hand assignment and the Vijay Hazare Trophy at the best since he wasn’t picked by any of the franchises to feature in the auction list. But a couple of days ahead of the auction Ishank has been included as a late entrant in the pool.
He was not included in the short list of the 351 players that were to be auctioned. But after his performances against the Central Zone and the South Zone his name appears under the batters to be auctioned for Indian Premier League 10 on IPLT20.com.
He is based at a price of INR 10 lakh. He will take it as he was very disappointed because of the sack during the first shortlist of 351 players. “It was important on a personal level because I was disappointed last evening,” he was quoted as saying after he was cut out from the original list of players.
The 28-year-old has scored 148 runs in the first three games at an impressive average of 74. His strike rate is also fantastic. He strikes his runs at 155.78. This surely prompted the officials to add his name to the current roster of the players to be auctioned.

Ishank had a wonderful domestic season this year, he featured all matches for his Ranji team Jharkhand. “It has been a good season for me as I feel I have hit the peak. I have played so much of domestic cricket that I know all about it and want to graduate to the next level. That is why this knock was so important. It will help me move up to the next level,” Jaggi said.
It will be interesting to see which team picks him in the auction scheduled for February 20.
