'Bhaiya hum India aajaye wapis?' - Yuzvendra Chahal engages in a hilarious banter with Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj advised Yuzi to come back to India only after seeing the final.
The defending champions Mumbai Indians involved in a thrilling affair with wooden-spooners Kings XI Punjab at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Punjab was in a desperate need of winning this match as they are positioned at last in the points tally with just two wins in eight games. Mumbai, on the other hand, will comfortably reach the playoffs as they were second in the tally with six victories in eight fixtures.
Despite having a rocky start to their innings, MI managed to put up a respectable score of 176 at the loss of six wickets on the board owing to the brilliant half-century by Quinton de Kock, 53 off 43. The all-rounder Kieron Pollard and pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile also made notable contributions by adding 34 off 12 deliveries and 24 runs off 12 respectively. For Punjab, Mohammed Shami and young Arshdeep Singh took two wickets each while Chris Jordan and Ravi Bishnoi had one to their name.
Chasing a target of 177 posted by Mumbai, Punjab lost its opening batsman Mayank Agarwal cheaply and were reeling at 33/1 within four overs. Universe Boss Chris Gayle tried to support his skipper KL Rahul but soon got out while playing at 24 runs. The left-handed batsman Nicholas Pooran looked promising as he smashed Rahul Chahar for a six followed by a four in his first over on the crease. Pooran scored some more big hits before losing his wicket to Bumrah. The game ended in a tie and the teams went on to play two Super Overs and eventually, KXIP came out victorious.
Yuvraj Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal’s funny banter on Twitter
Impressed with the power-hitting abilities of the West Indies swashbuckling batsman, the veteran Yuvraj Singh took to Twitter to appreciate the former. India’s former cricketer also predicted that despite a string of poor performances, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) would reach the playoffs and will feature in the finals against either Mumbai Indians or table-toppers Delhi Capitals.
“Looks like tonight’s game-changer is going to be @nicholas_47! Beautiful flow of the bat ! So amazing to watch ! Reminds me of someone I live within Grinning face ! Game on ! My prediction I feel @kxip will go all way to playoffs and play the finals along with @mipaltan or @DelhiCapitals,” Yuvraj tweeted
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) spinner Yuzvendra Chahal also saw this tweet by Yuvraj and couldn’t help but sarcastically ask the former if he along with his team should come back to India since Yuvraj don’t think they would make it to the finals. Interestingly, RCB is having a successful run in IPL 2020 as it is placed at the third position in the points table with six wins in nine fixtures and is deemed as one of the favourites to lift the cup.
Chahal questioned, “Bhaiya Hum india aajaye wapis?”
Carrying the funny banter with Chahal forward on Twitter, Yuvraj advised him to stay for a few more days to get hit for sixes and take a few more wickets. On this, the RCB spinner replied that he will take a few more wickets till November 10. Notably, the final of the tournament is scheduled on the same date. Taking note of this comment, Yuvraj advised Yuzi to come back to India only after seeing the final.
