It is not an everyday story to see someone battle cancer and be back to normal life again. When it comes to sports, things get worse as it is a gruesome task to get back to sporting fitness after fighting a disease like cancer. Team India batsman Yuvraj Singh is an inspiration for many when it comes to this. Recently, another local cricketer in Bhopal, Siddhant Bhatele, has scripted his own inspiring story on the lines similar to that of Yuvraj Singh. Playing in the vast grounds of Bhopal, Siddhant had never imagined that he will be struck upon with a carcinogenic disease.

It was after a practice session that he had fallen ill. After frequent medication and medical attention at home, his health showed no improvement. Upon being tested at a hospital, it was revealed that Siddhant Bhatele had Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Node Cancer. Severe adversity had struck the young cricketer and his family were in a state of disbelief. However, neither did Siddhant nor his family lost hope in such situation.

As per the reports in News18, it was Siddhant’s grandmother who went from door to door in order to arrange money for the chemotherapy and treatment of her grandson. Being from a middle class family, things were not easy to get. But the efforts of grandmother and the strong will of the young lad saw him overcome the disease. Now, he is back to the cricket field and is hopeful to represent the country some day soon.

It took him two years to get rid of the deadly disease and now wishes to make a strong comeback, just like Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj Singh was instrumental in helping India lift the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. He was the player of the tournament for India. However, soon after the tournament, he was diagnosed with cancer. Yuvraj did not lose hope and fought his way back to the Indian cricket team after beating cancer with his strong will and determination.
