Team India is missing their best swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the ongoing Test series against England due to the back injury. He was part of the deciding One-Day International against the same team last month which aggravated his injury and was eventually ruled out of first 3 Tests of the five-match rubber. However, Bhuvi has hit the gym after undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
He has been struggling with his back over the last few months and had missed a few matches during the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well. He was also ruled out of the first couple of ODIs against England and came back in the final game only to worsen it. It remains to be seen if he will be fit for the last couple of matches and if he does it will be a huge boost for the visitors who are going down like ninepins currently.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar would be itching to get back on the field after his injury and was excited to sweat it out in the gym on Tuesday. He posted the pictures of him training hard in his latest Instagram story and tried to give an update to his followers about his recovery from injury. The fast bowler is crucial for India’s fortunes in any format and more than the Test series it seems he will be looking to get fit for the upcoming Asia Cup in the UAE.
India’s injury woes
The injury woes for the Indian team have hit on England tour in the ongoing series as well. While Virat Kohli is also struggling with his lower back, Jasprit Bumrah has got fit just in time ahead of the third Test at Trent Bridge. Even Ravi Ashwin was hit on his right hand while batting at Lord’s in the second innings as he was seen grimacing in pain. But even he seems to have deemed fit for the next game. But Kohli’s fitness will be the most important for the team and all eyes will be on him for the next few days.
