India pulled off a near-miraculous win yesterday against Bangladesh in the World T20 game and while fans across the country were celebrating India’s stunning win after a highly tense and incredibly dramatic last over which saw the skipper MS Dhoni effect a run-out on the last ball to win the game for the team. Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan took to twitter to express how happy he was with the Indian win and also his concern with some of the commentators in the match. He first congratulated the Indian team for the win:
T 2184 -Now that I can breathe free .. WELL PLAYED INDIA !! Winning from 2 runs and 3 balls and then a hat trick on the last is incredible !
— Amitabh Bachchan (@SrBachchan) March 23, 2016
Sr. Bachchan followed it up with a Tweet that read ‘With all due respects, it would be really worthy of an Indian commentator to speak more about our players than others all the time.’

Big B was clearly referring to the Indian commentators who placed their focus entirely on the Bangladeshi batsmen through their run chase. The commentators were seen praising the Bangladeshi batsman, and why not, the Bangla batsmen did play exceptionally well, but Big B thought the commentators were a little too biased by not talking about the way the Indians were playing. The commentators were focussing on the Bangladesh batting depth yesterday, saying things like ‘I’ve never ever seen a Bangladeshi batting lineup this strong before‘. Which seems to have displeased the Bollywood superstar.
Harsha Bhogle then tweeted the following:
I said it on air and I'll say it again. This is the best group of players I have seen from Bangladesh.

Interestingly, though, MS Dhoni, the man who pulled off an extraordinary stumping and also effected the last ball run out, backed up Big B’s tweet by quoting his tweet.

Dhoni usually steers off controversies but seemed to agree with Big B. Many claim Big B’s tweet (which was re-tweeted more than 2500 times) was aimed at Harsha Bhogle and Sunil Gavaskar.
VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag, Sanjay Manjrekar, Aakash Chopra and other Indians are part of the commentary team for World T20.
