Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag had earlier praised Pat Cummins for his magnificent knock (56* off 15) against the Mumbai Indians by relating it with Vada Pav, a dish native to Mumbai. The tweet wasn’t welcomed by Rohit Sharma’s fans and it drew criticism straightaway for Sehwag. In order to clarify his earlier tweet, Sehwag replied to the same tweet explaining that the ‘Vada Pav’ reference was for Mumbai city and it had nothing to do with Rohit.
Mumbai succumbed to their third straight third loss in the season after losing to the Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 14 of IPL 2022 at the MCA Stadium in Pune, thanks to a fantastic display of hitting from Cummins. Mumbai had a tight grip on the game, after getting the big man Andre Russell out, but the Australian Test captain came out from nowhere and smacked 35 off a single over from Daniel Sams, and in the process, equalled the fastest half-century record in IPL history held by KL Rahul.
Coming back to Sehwag’s first tweet, the 43-year-old noted that it was one of the most insane displays of clean hitting from Cummins and took a dig at Mumbai for losing the game they had in their hands.
Here’s Virender Sehwag’s tweets after MI vs KKR game
“Moonh se nivala cheen liya , sorry vada pav cheen liya. Pat Cummins, one of the most insane displays of clean hitting, 15-ball 56, Jeera Batti #MIvKKR,” Sehwag had earlier tweeted
‘The Vada Pav reference is for Mumbai, a city that thrives on Vada Pav. Rohit fans thanda lo , I am a bigger fan of his batting much more than most of you guys,’ he added clarifying 1st tweet.

Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders have reached the top of the points table after their third victory of the season, and they are looking like the side to beat at the moment. The Shreyas Iyer-led side has found different heroes in every game, and Venkatesh Iyer staying unbeaten in their win against Mumbai was a huge tick in their boxes.
