Usually, when one receives his cap, the legend handing it out to the debutant, (which in this case was Billy Stanlake) is generally obliged to put the cap over his head. However, with Billy Stanlake standing at a massive 204 inches from the ground, it took a handshake and a handing over of the cap as Stanlake had to do the honors himself.

Australia has had some tall bowlers in the past. Of course, the most ferocious of them have been the likes of Dennis Lillee and Merv Hughes who have not really boasted of towering height. But, the likes of Bruce Reid had been the tallest of the lot to come from down under until such a time when Stanlake was handed the ball to bowl the second over.

While Reid had his share of injury troubles in his time for Australia with the ball, it is clear that the tallest of the lot have not really been the fittest or perhaps even the most ferocious of bowlers. However, the previous statement is set to be contradicted with the names of the lost who are well over the 200 cm height. Mohammad Irfan, the Pakistani bowler who sadly has had to miss this series stands at a whopping 216 cm and is the tallest international cricket at the moment.

Boyd Rankin, the current Ireland, and former England bowler stands face to face with Billy Stanlake at 204 cm with the former having had his share of injuries as well.

Perhaps the only player on the list who hasn’t been tormented by the injuries during his playing career has been Joel Garner, a West Indies pace legend. Although he is the coach at the moment for the incumbent West Indies quicks, his towering figure still sends the shivers down the spines of those who have faced him. He stands at 203 cm along with Bruce Reid and Peter George, the latter who will be remembered for touring India in early 2008.
