Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s marriage in Italy has been in the news for since the day it happened and it looks like the craze isn’t dying down soon considering everyone has a say in it. However, someone has found a reason to get offended. BJP leader Pannalal Shakya — an MLA from Guna in Madhya Pradesh has been irked by Virat and Anushka’s decision to get married abroad.
Shakya on Tuesday called the Indian cricket team captain “unpatriotic” for marrying the Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi actress and splurging money in a foreign country. In a video report by Republic TV, the BJP MLA is seen bringing up the topic and spewing venom at Virat while addressing a public rally in Pune.
He said great men like Lord Ram, Lord Krishna and King Yudhisthira from Mahabharata got married in their homeland but Virat and Anushka chose to abandon their motherland and got married in Italy, as reported by IBT.
And what was more surprising was that these words found support from a lot of people. A large crowd that had gathered at the rally was seen applauding the MLA while he was speaking on the matter. The couple took their wedding vows as per the traditional Hindu rituals, in a ceremony attended by their close friends and family members. The ceremony took place in a luxurious hamlet-turned-villa called the Borgo Finocchieto in the Tuscan region in Milan, Italy.
