'Bless you champion' - Cricket stars extend wishes on KL Rahul's 30th birthday
Rahul is one of the finest batters going around and his record across formats is nothing but jaw-dropping.
Days after scoring a remarkable century, KL Rahul celebrates his 30th birthday on Monday (April 18) and greetings are pouring in from different quarters. From Virat Kohli to Suresh Raina, many prominent members of the cricket fraternity took to social media and wished Rahul. Hailing from Karnataka’s Mangalore, Rahul is one of the finest batters going around and his record across formats is nothing but jaw-dropping.
Be it playing marathon knocks in Test cricket or scoring quick runs in T20s, Rahul has thrived in all formats and is expected to go a long way. Unlike most modern-day batters, Rahul has an orthodox technique and his shot-making is a sheer delight for the eyes. He also has a solid defense and many prominent bowlers have been victims of his brilliance.
KL Rahul – The new run machine in the town
Notably, Rahul was seen as a Test match specialist at the start of his career as he mustered a plethora of runs in his initial years in First-Class cricket. He made his Test debut during India’s 2014-15 tour of Australia, wherein he mustered a century in his very second Test in Sydney. Breaking the stereotypes, Rahul worked on his game and also emerged as a formidable force in white-ball cricket.
Rahul is one of the premier batters not just in India but all over the world. It must be noted that Rahul’s versatility has been a boon for Team India. Although the batter has opened for the best part of his career, he has done a terrific job as a middle-order batter for India in white-ball cricket. He’s also a pretty reliable wicketkeeper, who is also seen as India’s next captain.
As of now, the talismanic batter is leading Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. LSG has made a terrific start to the season, winning four of their first six games. Skipper Rahul has also been instrumental to his side’s success. He smashed a match-winning century against five-time champions MI in his last outing.
