Former Indian cricketer and renowned Commentator Deep Dasgupta associates with CricTracker as Columnist
Former India cricketer Deep Dasgupta will be writing his columns for CricTracker, one of India’s leading infotainment websites. He will be giving his views as an expert on the latest trends in the sport in the coming days through CricTracker.
Deep Dasgupta played 8 Tests and 5 ODIs for India as a wicketkeeper-batsman in 2001 and 2002. In 13 Test innings, he scored 344 with a century and two half-centuries to his name. Deep played 83 first-class and 53 List-A matches at the domestic level affecting more than 250 dismissals behind the wickets.
Rather he was one of the better wicketkeepers India had in the early 2000s which is when he made it to the national team and impressed many with his batting and keeping. Despite last playing for India in 2002, he kept performing in the domestic arena for Bengal till 2009 before calling it quits from the sport.
After his playing career, Deep Dasgupta took up commentary and has been excellent behind the mic over the years. In the last few years, he is also doing Hindi commentary and is one of the popular voices especially in India’s home season and in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Recently, he also worked as a Hindi commentator for the 3TC Game organised by Cricket South Africa (CSA) and was one of the only few doing virtual commentary for the first time ever. Deep Dasgupta is known to have one of the best analytical minds of the game and has his own style of taking the details of the game to the fans.
