POTM Riyan Parag said:
"Emotions are settled, mum's here as well. She's seen the struggles, this feels special. I know what my ability is and I never let that change - irrespective of whether I perform or not. A lot to do with the domestic season, where I scored a lot of runs. Someone in the top four has to take it deep. First match, Sanju bhaiya did it, today I did it. I had to work very hard. I was on bed in the last three days. I could manage it today," Parag said.
Winning skipper Sanju Samson said:
"The way we started, the first ten overs, we were like Rovman, be ready you might have to bat! The IPL is changing and we all have to be flexible. Earlier it was about 11 players, now it is about all 15 players. Me and Sanga had a lot of chat between 15th and 17th over before deciding the Impact Player. It's all about gauging in which zone they are. You have to look at that and take your decision. I saw Sandy was calm and Avesh was also looking good, so i went with that. Riyan Parag has been a big name in the last few years. Wherever I go, people ask me about him. There is something very special he can give to Indian cricket," Samson said
Losing skipper Rishabh Pant said:
"Definitely disappointed. Best thing we can do from this is learn from it. The bowlers did really well till 15-16 overs, batters sometimes go on at the death and score quickly, that happened in this game. Marsh and Warner gave a good start, but we lost a few wickets in the middle overs and in the end we had too many runs to cover up. There are other options, we wanted Nortje to bowl at the death and sometimes you can go for runs, hopefully we can do better in the next match," Pant said
RR WIN BY 13 RUNS!
Brilliant over from Avesh Khan. The experience came in handy as Rajasthan Royals defeated Delhi Capitals by 13 runs in Jaipur. Two back-to-back wins for Rajasthan while consecutive losses for Delhi.
17 RUNS NEEDED TO WIN
15 runs were scored in the penultimate over of the match as DC are 169/5 after 19 overs. 17 runs are needed in the final over. Notably, Riyan Parag smacked 25 runs in the final over of the first innings.
STUBBS PRODUCES MAGIC!
Stubbs drove and drove well for a boundary. 10 runs off two deliveries. Sandeep Sharma seems to be under some pressure. 22 runs needed off 10 deliveries.

End of the 16th over
DC are in a state of bother. They are 126/5 after 16 overs. Rajasthan are bowling brilliantly at the moment.
GONEEEEEE!
Sandeep Sharma picked up a brilliant catch at slips as David Warner departed after scoring 49 runs off 34 deliveries. Avesh Khan gave the breakthrough as DC are 97/3

Hosts Rajasthan Royals (RR), the inaugural winners of IPL, are all set to lock horns against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 9 of the ongoing 17th Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) edition. The high-octane clash is slated to be contested on Thursday, March 28, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, in Jaipur.
RR, fresh off a convincing win over Lucknow Super Giants, will be high on confidence as they aim to secure their second victory of the tournament. With a formidable batting lineup boasting the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler, RR poses a significant threat to DC's aspirations. They have a very strong bowling lineup with names like Trent Boult, as well as the spin duo of Ravi Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal, who are poised to challenge the DC batters.
On the other hand, DC, led by Rishabh Pant, are yet to taste victory in the IPL this season. Despite a strong top-order featuring David Warner and Mitchell Marsh, DC will need to up their game to overcome the challenge posed by RR. Their batting still appears weaker on paper compared to Rajasthan Royals. In such a scenario, their bowlers, led by Kuldeep Yadav's mystery spin, will aim to contain the potent RR batting lineup and limit them to a modest total.
Weather and Pitch Report:
The weather forecast for Jaipur indicates cloudy conditions with no threat of rain, ensuring an uninterrupted contest. However, the humidity levels are expected to be low, providing ideal playing conditions for both teams.
The pitch at Jaipur is likely to favour batters, with a high-scoring encounter anticipated. Bowlers from both sides will face a tough task containing the opposition's batting firepower, with a par score expected to be around 200 runs in the first innings.
With both teams aiming for a crucial victory, cricket enthusiasts can anticipate an enthralling contest between RR and DC. RR will be eager to maintain their momentum, while DC will be determined to secure their first win and get on the points table.
