'Misleading posts' - Kolkata police give clarification on scheduling concerns for KKR vs LSG April 6 match
Amidst the rumors claiming KKR vs LSG match to get rescheduled due to a potential inadequate security, the Kolkata Police assured the fans of providing proper safety.

As the inaugural match of the IPL 2025 between KKR and RCB is clouded with concerns over a potential washout, another match in Eden Gardens is suffering a red alert from a safety issue. However, Kolkata Police guaranteed the fans and the citizens great security for the KKR vs LSG match, which will collide with Ram Navami celebrations. Kolkata Police took to X and answered the 'misleading posts'.
"Certain misleading posts are being circulated regarding the proposed rescheduling of the IPL match on 6th April. Kolkata Police remains firmly committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens. All deployment decisions are made keeping public safety as the top priority. Kolkata Police – With you, Always," Kolkata Police assured safety to the fans and citizens through their post on X.

Meeraj Khalid, the Joint Commissioner of Police (Headquarters), spoke about the preparations of the police force ahead of the IPL 2025 season. "IPL matches are played in Kolkata every year. We have made arrangements as we do before every match. This year even better arrangements will be in place," Khalid told to Indian Express.
'We haven’t got any response regarding that yet' - CAB on BCCI's response to their request
The match between KKR and LSG, scheduled to take place on April 6, is asked to be rescheduled or moved to a different venue by CAB to BCCI. CAB President Snehasish Ganguly had earlier claimed the Kolkata Police wasn't confident of providing adequate security for the match, which led to the 'misleading posts'.
Kolkata Police addressed the issue with their post on X. On April 6, the KKR vs LSG match will collide with Ram Navami celebrations. To avoid security and safety issues, CAB has consulted BCCI over rescheduling or moving the match to a different venue.
CAB's letter to BCCI regarding the rescheduling or moving the match to a different venue has not been answered yet. "We haven’t got any response regarding that yet," A CAB official confirmed with the Indian Express.
