6. Tim Southee
Right-arm swing bowler Tim Southee made a spectacular debut on the world stage. When he was given his Test debut against England in Napier, he was still just 19, had just one T20I cap under his belt, and had just returned from an Under-19 World Cup where he had won Player of the Tournament. After replying with 5 for 55, Southee struck nine sixes and smashed 77 off 40 balls in the second innings.
He is a well-established name in his nation as well as the international circuit. He has now led the Kiwis side in the Tests, ODIs and T20Is as well having played 96, 161 and 122 games respectively in those formats.
