Bollywood star Sidharth Malhotra was spotted in Dambulla where the Men in Blue are currently playing the first ODI of the 5-match series. The actor is leaving no stone unturned to promote his upcoming film ‘A Gentleman’. The film is slated to hit the theatres on 25th August.

Sidharth had also made an appearance in the pre-match show where he met legendary Sunil Gavaskar and commentator Harsha Bhogle and posted pics on his Instagram account as well. His co-star Jacqueline Fernandez too was seen with him and it seems they are promoting their film very seriously.

When asked about the reason to promote the film in a cricket match, Sidharth said that A Gentleman has a universal subject and that is why he decided to promote the film during the India-Sri Lanka ODI series.

India comes back after strong the start by Sri Lanka

Team India won the toss and chose to field first in the first ODI at Dambulla. Sri Lanka started off strongly as Dickwella and Gunathilaka provided them with a strong start. Gunathilaka, though was dismissed by the leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for 35 in the 14th over as Mendis came into the middle and kept runs flowing.

But as Dickwella got out for a well made 64 off 74 in the 24th over, India started to take things under control. Spinners including the part timer screwed the run flow and that kept the pressure building on the hosts. Mendis too was sent packing soon and by Axar Patel and Sri Lanka started to collapse once again. The middle order failed to capitalise on the good start provided by the openers and the score currently is 183/7 after 38 overs with Mathews fighting the battle for them.

The island nation though have to win at least a couple of One Day Internationals in this series to get the direct entry into the 2019 Cricket World Cup in England.
