Team India will host Australia in a four-match Test series scheduled to commence on February 9 for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The two fierce rivals will lock horns for the first time this year in a red-ball series which proves to be a crucial one for both sides.
It is due to the fact that both heavyweights are in contention for spots in the summit clash of the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 cycle. The series will be a treat for the fans as they will be glued to their TV sets to keep track of the India vs Australia live score. The fabled competition between these two cricketing powerhouse was just a Test series between 1947 to 1996 but was renamed to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 1996 to celebrate the record-breaking achievements of cricket legends- Allan Border and Sunil Gavaskar.
The Border Gavaskar Trophy has seen 15 series played thus far with team India clinching nine of them whereas Australia won five series and one resulting in a draw. As per the upcoming India vs Australia schedule, the two sides will clash at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur and the series will conclude at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 9.
As an exciting contest awaits, both sides will be on the lookout to obtain results in their favour and clinch the series. Claiming the series would mean that the winning team will have made a spot in the World test Championship final.
