The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have been impressive with five wins in eight league matches of IPL 2022. Currently, they are up against the challenge of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their ninth league match. Ahead of this fixture, the former Indian cricketer turned commentator Nikhil Chopra discussed the bowler’s mindset to dismiss Buttler and shared his views on the RCB’s performance in the last league match.
Chopra reckoned that the bowlers should have a firm belief to dismiss the Orange Cap holder Jos Buttler. He added that this belief and intensity are crucial for the bowler to pick the wicket of any in-form batter. Chopra urged the bowlers to be fearless like Buttler in their attitude and thinks that they may get hit for a few balls, but they can also control the game by taking wickets.
“The belief should be such that you will dismiss Buttler in this over. This belief is important for every ball, that you are trying to get his wicket. If you go on with the mindset of just keeping away from his radar and keeping it safe, the intensity will be less, and then the chances of him scoring runs. The fearless way which Buttler is batting, the same should be displayed by the bowler as well. If getting hit for a four or six, is a part and parcel of the game, the same way getting wickets are also a part and parcel of the game,” said Nikhil Chopra on Sky247.net presents ‘Not Just Cricket’ Show on CricTracker.
They would look to forget it quickly: Nikhil Chopra on RCB’s performance against SRH
In their eighth league match of the season against Sunrisers Hyderabad( SRH), RCB were dismissed for a score of 68. After being asked about their performance, Chopra reckoned that they certainly would term it as a nightmare, and would look to forget it as soon as possible. He concluded by saying that the current RCB line-up is strong and it was unfortunate, that they were dismissed for such a low score.
“The last fixture for RCB was the hangover you’d get over quickly. You will remember it many times. If you get all out on a score of 68, you think of it as a nightmare and try to forget it as quickly as possible. If you look at that batting line-up you surely think that it’s not a line-up which would get wrapped up for a score of 68,” Chopra added.
Talking in the context of the current match (against RCB), Buttler was dismissed early on by Josh Hazlewood.
