Swiggy, one of India’s largest online food ordering and delivery platforms, is facing the heat on Twitter for making fun of batting superstar Rohit Sharma. Time and again, trolls have targeted the India batting star for his physique. Rohit has been body-shamed by trolls on several occasions.
One has seen the trolls posting doctored images of the right-handed batsman on several occasions. More often than not, the doctored images show Rohit eating ‘vada paav’, a popular dish of Maharashtra. And Swiggy did something similar. Their Twitter handle shared a doctored image from a user who showed Rohit reaching out for the food at a vada paav stall.
Sharing the image, they wrote: “Haters will say it’s photoshopped!” Swiggy might have thought that their tweet would bring a smile to the fans’ faces but their stunt has completely backfired. The tweet has not gone down well with most of the fans as they lashed out against the delivery platform. Swiggy was quick to delete the tweet but the damage was already done.
The fans have been sharing the screenshots of the tweet and have called for the boycott of the company. Some of the fans even posted images of uninstalling the app from their respective mobile phones. One fan even called them shameless for the tweet. Another fan vowed to never order any food from the app.
Here are some of the reactions:

Mumbai start title-defence with loss:
Talking about Rohit Sharma’s team Mumbai Indians, the defending champions have started their campaign in the ongoing IPL 2021 with a loss at the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore. The five-time champions could not really deliver with the bat in the tournament opener as RCB beat them by two wickets in the thrilling game.
Asked to bat first, Mumbai Indians could only post a modest total of 159 for 9 in the allotted 20 overs. Opener Chris Lynn was the top-scorer for the side. The Rohit Sharma-led side put up a good show with the ball but the target was just not enough to defend against a batting lineup boasting the likes of Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers.
