BPL 2019: SRH sends a good luck tweet to David Warner as he joins Sylhet Sixers
David Warner is set to take part in the seven-team tournament beginning from January 5, 2019.
Former Australian vice-captain David Warner is currently serving a one-year ban after the ball-tampering saga. However, this imposition still doesn’t keep him away from the game that he loves. Although he didn’t feature in the IPL 11 for the Sunrisers Hyderabad, he participated in a few other tournaments. Some of the major competitions that he featured in are the Global T20 Canada and the Caribbean Premier League.
While Warner is expected to be back at the helm of SRH next year, there is another assignment that lies ahead of him before the mega T20 tournament. Just a day before his 32nd birthday, David Warner has signed a Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) deal. He will be putting up his T20 prowess on display for the Sylhet Sixers in the upcoming edition of the tournament.
Best wishes skipper
David Warner is set to take part in the seven-team tournament beginning from January 5, 2019. Also, with him being in the subcontinent for over a month, it would help him adjust a great deal to the conditions. It was Warner himself, who announced the news of him joining the Sixers on the club’s official Facebook page.
“I’m very excited to let you know that I’m now a Sixer. I can’t wait to be a part of the Sylhet Sixers family. See you soon!” Warner said in the video. During his ban period, the 31-year-old had a short stint in the NT Strike League. He also returned to NSW Premier Cricket for Randwick-Petersham to start the home summer. The left-hander’s ban will end in March next year and he could well be in contention for both the World Cup and the Ashes which will be played in the United Kingdom.
“Best wishes to @davidwarner31 for his latest T20 venture in the Bangladesh Premier League,” tweeted the official handle of the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
