Brad Hogg wants to bowl at Sachin Tendulkar again
Left-arm chinaman Brad Hogg today reminisced the famous contest he had Little Master Sachin Tendulkar nine years ago. It wasn’t your usual face-off where heated words and death stares get exchanged. It was one player in awe of the other and there was only respect and admiration. This face-off gave fans a fantastic memory to relish each time India v Australia games come to the mind.
In the third ODI between India and Australia in 2007 at Hyderabad, Brad Hogg got better of the little master and later went to Tendulkar to get a photograph of that dismissal autographed by the maestro. Tendulkar obliged with the words, “Never again mate!”
He tweeted: Lot of veterans games around the world, one opportunity, one game away to get the little master again.
Hogg also mentions his desire to play against Sachin Tendulkar once again and is hopeful that it happens during one of the many veteran matches that are scheduled in the upcoming year.
Brad himself spoke about the incident and talked through the whole episode.
“I tried to sledge him a couple of times during our battles, but my words were met with sheer determination. After a number of encounters, I thought it best to be polite to the legend. The day I was polite was the day I got him out — it was during a One-Day International (ODI) ay Hyderabad in 2007.”
“I went up to Sachin with a photograph — which had the stumps in the frame with the bails on the ground, he was walking off, Adam Gilchrist trying to control my enthusiasm and I was celebrating ecstatically as though the wicket had saved my career. Sachin signed the photo of his dismissal with the words, “Never again mate”. Never a truer word said!”
