After the grand announcement of the brand new T10 League scheduled to be organized in Sharjah Cricket Stadium, the organizers are planning an expansion all over the Indian sub-continent featuring Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Stalwarts of the game such as Virender Sehwag, Kumar Sangakkara and Fakhar Zaman are all set to represent Maratha Arabians in the inaugural edition of the league which is schemed to start this December.

Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Chief Selector and former legendary captain and batsman, Inzamam-ul-Haq, who is the joint owner along with his brother, for one of the teams scheduled to participate in the upcoming T10 Cricket League by the name of Punjab Legends.

The other teams scheduled to take part in the competition are Bangla Tigers, Pakhtoons, Kerala Kings and Colombo Kings. Shahid Afridi will be captaining the Pakhtoons team which is owned by Habib Khan. The other prominent names to feature in the league are Eoin Morgan and Misbah-ul-Haq.

Here’s Sohail Khan in support for Maratha Arabians:

“We are talking to Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh about having T10 cricket there. The first year is going to be critical. If the game is executed correctly and picked up the way it should be, it could be adopted at the regional level, national, and then international level,” commented the chairman and founder of the tournament, Shaji Ul Mulk, according to Hindustan Times.

“When [Pakhtoons franchise owner Habib Khan] came to me tell me about this, I said ‘Please, let me play in this format’,” claimed an excited Shahid Afridi. Further, Pakistan’s iconic captain Misbah-ul-Haq also expressed his support for the concept of T10 League.

“Whoever came up with this idea did a wonderful job. It is a new concept, and for players like me, it is good for us with the kind of age we are – only 10 overs cricket. There is no need to go there and think a lot, and I think something new like this is good for the cricket fan,” added Misbah.
