Former Zimbabwe batsman Brendan Taylor committed a blunder on Twitter today. India took on New Zealand in the first ODI of the 5-match series in Dharamsala. Taylor was surely keen on following the game. However, he got it all wrong when he questioned MS Dhoni’s presence on the field. He exclaimed that he thought Dhoni had already retired from the Test cricket.
The legendary Zimbabwean perhaps got confused with the format of the game. He tweeted, “I thought MSD retired from tests? #indvsnz.” Brendan Taylor, however, was quick to realize that he had committed the mother of all errors as replies came in flooding for his tweet. The Test series has already concluded and the action has now moved to the limited overs.

The humble man from Zimbabwe apologized for getting it all wrong. He did not shy away from admitting that he felt there was one more Test to go in the series. He added that he is perhaps losing his mind and committing such blunders. He tweeted again, “@BrendanTaylor86 apologies! I thought there was one more test. losing my mind.”

Taylor retired from international cricket last year. He quit playing for Zimbabwe after scoring a majestic ton against India in the ICC World Cup 2015 last year. Undoubtedly, Brendan Taylor has been the most successful batsman for Zimbabwe in all forms of the game. His heroics have taken Zimbabwe to many historic victories. More importantly, was been the mainstay of the batting and held the fort of a sinking boat time and again.

A thorough legend of the game, Taylor bid adieu to international cricket in order to pursue his career as a county cricketer in England. His decision had come last year citing financial reasons and the search for better opportunities. Meanwhile, we hope he is enjoying the India-New Zealand ODI and is rooting for MS Dhoni to kick start on a winning note.
