Mixed weather forecast for India v Windies 3rd ODI
A win in the third ODI at Antigua will give the Indian team an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
The ongoing ODI series between India and Windies has already seen two games that have been threatened by rain. The first ODI had to be called off due to persistent rain. The second game saw a delayed start due to the same very reason and was a rain curtailed affair. Now, the action moves to the North Sound, Antigua for the third ODI of the series.
Not much to the relief of the players and the cricket fans of the two countries, an uninterrupted game of cricket might not be on the cards for the day. The weather forecasts, as per Accuweather, is not quite bright for the day in Antigua. It shows possible chance of rain and that certainly does not come as a big plus for the two teams. Showers are expected in the morning. The skies might clear out after that and then rain is expected to pour down in evening.
Talking about the series, the first match saw team India batting first. After the openers – Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane – lit up the occasion with fifties, the rain gods poured in. After just over 39 overs being bowled on the day in the first innings, the rain intervened. Following that, no more action of cricket could take place. The match was subsequently called off.
In the second game, the rain ensured a delayed start. In the 43-overs a side game, team India thumped the hosts by 105 runs. It was Ajinkya Rahane who was the star of the show with a brilliant hundred to his name. With the win, the men in blue eked out a 1-0 lead in the 5-match ODI series.
