MS Dhoni is currently busy plying his trade in the 2019 edition of the World Cup in England and Wales. Prior to the mega event, he was deemed as one of the key elements of the Indian team and rightly so, bearing in mind his exploits at the highest level. The veteran is approaching 38 and he hasn’t lost the zeal and dedication to succeed, donning the prestigious national jersey.

The Jharkhand-born had a rough time last year, but he has been absolutely stupendous in 2019. He has answered his critics pretty efficiently, scoring runs under severe pressure. He scored three back-to-back centuries against Australia to bag the Player of the Series award. The experienced campaigner hasn’t looked back ever since and has gotten runs on a pretty consistent basis.

MS Dhoni doing a great job

As far as the World Cup is concerned, Dhoni has thus far notched 188 runs in six matches at an average of 47. He came into the main round with a positive frame of mind after scoring a century in one of the warm-up matches versus Bangladesh at the Sophia Gardens. However, he hasn’t quite looked at his very best in the last few games and has been a recipient of some criticism.

A number of fans and even cricketing experts have said that Dhoni could’ve been a proactive in the middle overs of the games. In India’s previous match against England, he churned out 42, but couldn’t save his team from a 31-run defeat. India’s next match is versus Bangladesh at the Edgbaston in Birmingham and Dhoni would be looking to play a knock of substance.

In the meantime, popular stand-up comedian Atul Khatri asked MS Dhoni to be brought back from the World Cup to Mumbai, where rain has been taking centerstage over the last few days. The Mumbai floods have brought the Western state of India to a standstill. Khatri feels that only Dhoni can put a lid on the ferocity of flooding in the metropolitan city.

He took to Twitter and wrote, “Bring Dhoni to Mumbai Only he can slow down the pace of flooding in Mumbai right now #MumbaiRainsLive #MumbaiRain,”
