India is currently involved in the series opener of the two-match Test series against New Zealand. The visitors have found themselves struggling in the overseas conditions as their batsmen failed to score runs. The Indian fans criticised them for their poor batting display but one player who was brought under the scanner is Prithvi Shaw. And, the netizens have requested the team management to include Shubman Gill for the second Test which is slated to be held at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
There was a long debate going on which player between Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill will open alongside Mayank Agarwal in the first Test. Its been long that these two players have been giving tough competition to each other for grabbing a place as an opener in the longer format. This was the biggest opportunity as the regular opener Rohit Sharma got ruled out of the series after he sustained a calf injury during the T20I series.
Fans want Shubman Gill in 2nd Test as an opener
Statistically, Shubman Gill is in top form with the bat. Moreover, he proved his worth in the overseas conditions as he scored a double ton in the first unofficial Test against New Zealand A followed by his amazing ton in the 2nd game as an opener. It was almost confirmed that he will get his chance against BlackCaps in the opening game of the Test series but that never happened.
Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper picked Shaw in the team that left the majority of the fans in dilemma. The short heightened opener scored 14 and 16 runs in 1st and 2nd innings. In the 1st innings, he was dismissed off Trent Boult as he was caught by Tom Latham followed by his dismissal in 2nd innings where Shaw was castled by Tim Southee.
The fans couldn’t digest the way Prithvi Shaw got out in both the innings of the 1st Test. They took to Twitter and roasted the young player from Mumbai. Moreover, they urged the team management to pick Shubman Gill for the 2nd Test that will begin from 29th of February.
Here is how fans reacted:

I think Shubman Gill is best option in place of Prithvi Shaw for tests. #starsportsindia #NZvIND

Prithvi shaw bhai unfit hai . Dear @BCCI @SGanguly99 please remove Ravi Shastri @RaviShastriOfc because of favoritism in selection.

Shubman Gill will play better than Prithvi Shaw
If he get chance @BCCI @imVkohli @SGanguly99 @ICC @PrithviShaw @RealShubmanGill— Ankur Solanki (@akrsolanki99) February 23, 2020
Shouldn't @SubhmanG Given a chance in place of Prithvi Shaw considering that he has a Good Batting Technique as Compared to Shaw in Swinging Conditions?#askstar @StarSportsIndia

@RealShubmanGill has the 2nd Best FC batting average after sir Don Bradman. and still he's waiting for his International debut
It's strange that India with so much of batting riches could only find someone like Prithvi Shaw who has so many technical flaws in his batting #NZvsIND pic.twitter.com/PCmUXluYUk

I love @PrithviShaw but he was out of cricketing circuit for 6-8 months because of his suspension. While @RealShubmanGill has been scoring runs everywhere he goes across formats and at different positions. I am trying to understand the strategy behind Shaw over gill. #INDvsNZ
