Brock Lesnar's legal advisor Paul Heyman and Star Sports engage in hilarious Twitter banter over Virat Kohli's tons
Kohli recently became the first Indian to score three consecutive ODI centuries.
WWE star Brock Lesnar’s legal advisor Paul Heyman had a hilarious exchange of messages on Twitter with Star Sports India over Virat Kohli’s spree of centuries in the ongoing India-Windies ODI series. The prolific batsman recently became the first ever Indian to score three consecutive ODI centuries. To add to his laurels, he also stormed into the select club of batsmen with more than 10,000 ODI runs, breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record of getting to the five-figure mark in the fewest innings.
Star Sports India, who have acquired the broadcasting rights for the ODI series between India and the Windies, had taken to Twitter to share a congratulatory tweet following the Indian skipper’s record-breaking century in Pune on Saturday. The tweet reads, “Eat. Sleep. Hit 100s. Repeat! King Kohli’s at it again! Watch the Chase Master lead another India chase NOW on Star Sports! #INDvWI #BattleOfSixes”
However, the tweet received an interesting reply from Paul Heyman, who’s Brock Lesnar’s legal advisor. He wrote back to Star Sports with a cheeky message that read, “I will give props to King Kohli for his accomplishments, and therefore issue a one-time pardon to Star Sports India for “borrowing” (ahem) from my catchphrase for Brock Lesnar #EatSleepConquerRepeat. Thou art pardoned by decree of Your Humble Advocate. You are most welcome!”
Kohli a beast incarnate himself, says Star Sports
Star Sports India then took the banter up another notch, claiming in their next tweet that Virat Kohli is nothing short of a ‘beast incarnate’ himself. But Paul Heyman was not going to let go of this very easily as he responded back with a clever yet funny message for Virat.
He tweeted, “In order for King Kohli to even consider being billed as The Beast Incarnate (property of @BrockLesnar, reigning defending undisputed greatest athlete in the world), he would have to have Paul Heyman as an Advocate. Star Sports India, I applaud your passion, for I am the GOAT! ”
King Kohli, as he commonly referred to, has already amassed a whopping 420 runs from the first 4 ODIs of the ongoing series. India and the Windies will meet one last time in the 50-over format in Thiruvananthapuram on November 1, with the series currently in favour of India at 2-1. Virat Kohli has however been rested for the 3-match T20I series against the same opposition and will resume his captaincy duties when he flies to Australia in mid-November.
