CAB all set to make India's 250th Test match at home a special one
The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) listed a series of programs for the second Test against New Zealand, which will be India’s 501st Test match and the 250th Test match at home.
India is currently playing the 500th Test match at Kanpur. The second Test match of the series will commence from September 30.
The iconic Eden Gardens will install a giant bell similar to the one at Lord’s located outside the Bowlers’ Bar of the pavilion. The bell will be rung to mark the beginning of the day’s play.
“The hallowed turf of Eden Gardens last hosted New Zealand half a century earlier and in that sense, September 30, 2016, is another occasion of celebration,” CAB joint Secretary Avishek Dalmiya, said here.

At Kanpur, former Men, and Women cricketers were felicitated on the first day at Kanpur and in addition to CAB is not keeping any stones unturned as they head towards the 250th Test match for India.
“We just got a confirmation that this will be the 250th Test on the Indian soil which makes it historic and special. This would be in addition to the felicitation which would be done to commemorate the 250th Test match on Indian soil,” he added.
CAB has slashed the season tickets rates to Rs 1000, Rs 750 and Rs 500. In order to spread the awareness of Test cricket around the nation, CAB has decided to issue free passes to 44 schools, which had participated in the tournament organised by it.

“Also, in order to encourage the young budding talents, it has been decided to allot the passes to approximately 200 cricket coaching centres that participated in the junior as well as to another 200 centres that participated in a sub-junior cricket tournament,” Avishek concluded.
