On the sidelines of his official India visit, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was spotted trying his hands at cricket earlier today. The Canadian PM landed with his family in the country last Saturday as part of a week-long tour on the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is accompanied by wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau and their three children – Ella-Grace, Xavier and Hadrien and a delegation of ministers. They were received by Minister of State for Agriculture Gajendra Singh and Indian Ambassador to Canada Vikas Swarup.
Trudeau’s schedule for the day began with a visit to the Jama Masjid in Old Delhi. Following that, he visited Delhi’s Modern School cricket ground, where he was seen playing the sport with his children. Former India captains Kapil Dev and Mohammad Azharuddin were also present at the ground. Trudeau also delivered a keynote address at the Canada India Business Seminar.
In a video posted news agency ANI on Twitter, the Canadian PM was seen juggling a cricket bat while walking on the pitch before giving away the bat to one of his children.

Purpose of Trudeau’s visit
The Canadian PM is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in the capital on Friday, February 23. The two world leaders are believed to discuss numerous key areas and agendas including trade and investment, energy, science and innovation, higher education, infrastructure development, amongst other things.
Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh also met Mr. Trudeau in Amritsar for a one-on-one meeting. Trudeau along with his family visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar yesterday. He has also visited the Taj Mahal in Agra and Sabarmati Ashram in Gujarat during his ongoing stay.
